Silverwood Lake (September 29^th2012 )
Family trip to Lake Arrowhead
August 2025 Thanks to Davids decision to celebrate Deannas B-day at Silverwood Lake, we got to experience a really nice Southern California recreational site. The Lake was formed by the 249-foot Cedar Springs Dam. At 3,350 feet, it is the highest reservoir in the State Water Project. The park features hiking trails, swimming beaches and designated area where we where taken, once again by David for a boating, water-skiing ride. The lake has trout, large mouth bass, catfish and bluegill for anyone that likes fishing. There is a marina with a launching ramp, boat and equipment rentals, and a store. Everyone present contributed with food and supplies and it seems we all had a great time camping and roughfing it in tents for the night.

Shuttle Endeavor (September 21^th2012 )
Los Angeles Times reporters and photographers have put together a list of prime viewing locations for those hoping to spot Endeavor as it travels 1,500 feet over some of Southern California’s most iconic landmarks. Although our home does not qualify as one of southern Californias most Iconic landmarks, I could not imagine a more perfect viewpoint than the roof of my home on Orange st. Thanks to my doughter in law, Shanna who informed me of the pending flyover by the Space Shuttle Endeavor riding on top of a modified 747 jet. I was able to go to my viewpoint just in time to see three flyovers just about 2000 feet from my location. Fantastic sight.

National parks of Utah (August 31^th to Sept 3^rd 2012 )
We are on our way to sight-see at some of Utah's National Parks. We, a grey haired group of five adventurers hit the road early this morning so that we might stop at Bryce National Park and reach our hotel in Green River the same day. A good part of the this trip will be used up traveling to and from our final destination, Canyonland National Park and Arches National Park. We planned this trip with our friends Elizabeth, Carola and Art and we are looking forward to an enjoyable, fun and somewhat challenging trip to some really spectacular natural sites.
